In a proactive stride towards environmental conservation, JNV EGH organized an awareness camp and rally aimed at safeguarding the Simsang River. Conducted in the village Kusumkolgre, Williamnagar on 16th March, 2024, the event, a pivotal component of JNV Williamnagar's pace-setting activities, garnered widespread participation and accolades for its impactful message and collaborative spirit. It began with an informative session conducted by the incharge of Pace Setting Activities, Mr. Madhu Mangal Biswas (PGT ENGLISH), who elucidated the critical role rivers play in our ecosystem, their significance for human survival, and the imminent threats they face due to pollution, encroachment, and unsustainable exploitation. It unfolded as a vibrant rally traversing the streets of Kusumkolgre, with students, teachers, and concerned citizens joining forces to champion the cause of saving river specially the Simsang River. Students also distributed snacks to onlookers, symbolizing hospitality and camaraderie amidst shared challenges. The rally culminated in a bustling gathering, where attendees were treated to an engaging quiz on water conservation and environmental sustainability. Prizes were awarded to quiz winners, incentivizing participation and reinforcing the importance of active involvement in environmental initiatives. Amidst the looming water crisis, the rally served as a poignant reminder of the urgent need to protect our water bodies and preserve precious natural resources. It emerged as a beacon of hope and collective action.
