In a remarkable display of cultural unity and global awareness, the inter-house Wall magazine competition at
JNV East Garo Hills, Williamnagr recently took the theme of
'Viswasangam'- "Confluence of cultures". Conducted on Friday, 27th October,2023, it aimed to explore the fascinating connection between
Meghalaya, a serene state in North-east India, and
Guyana , a vibrant nation in South America, showcasing how these seemingly distant places are interlinked through history, migration and shared values. Students of all the four houses participating in it, brilliantly depicted this confluence of cultures. The colorful displays showcased traditional
Meghalayan attire alongside Guyanese cultural symbols. Highlighting the rich cultural heritage of both places,
Aravali House secured the
first position, followed by Shivalik house(2nd), Udaigiri (3rd), Nilgiri (4th).
