Farewell Celebration for Mr. Nildoz Marak at JNV Williamnagar

On January 31, 2025, a heartfelt farewell was organized at JNV Williamnagar to bid adieu to Mr. Nildoz Marak, who retired after serving an impressive 34 years in the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Mr. Marak, a loyal and dedicated choukidar, was honored in a special morning assembly, where he was the chief guest of the day.

The assembly began with Mr. Ravi Kant, the Principal of JNV Williamnagar, who felicitated Mr. Marak for his years of committed service. In his speech, Mr. Kant emphasized Mr. Marak's invaluable contributions to the school, acknowledging the immense role he played in ensuring the smooth functioning of the school over the years.

Smt. Madhumangal Biswas, PGT English, also took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech on Mr. Marak, recounting his exemplary service and dedication to his duties, which made him an important figure in the school’s community. 
The farewell celebration continued later in the day with a special event held in the school’s library from 12:30 p.m. onwards. During the event, many teachers, including OS Sir, shared their thoughts and spoke about Mr. Marak’s significant role in shaping the environment of the school. Mr. Ravi Kant, Principal Sir, once again addressed the gathering, expressing his deep gratitude towards Mr. Marak for his invaluable service, and presented him with official documents and facilities to mark the occasion of his retirement.
In a touching moment, Mr. Marak himself delivered a speech, reflecting on his many years of service at JNV Williamnagar. He shared his memorable experiences and expressed his deep gratitude for the support and camaraderie he received from colleagues, students, and the entire school community.
Several teachers recounted his unique characteristics, such as his signature cowboy-like appearance, thanks to his distinctive hat, which became his trademark. His special love for khoai  and tambul (betel leaves) was a well-known trait among the staff. Mr. Marak’s daily commute to work on his cycle was also mentioned with affection, with many recalling how he would pedal through the school gates, his ever-present energy and warmth lighting up the surroundings.

Teachers like Mr. Manoj Debnath, PGT Geography, TGT Hindi Rajkamal Bairwa, TGT Maths Ms. Manisha, and Staff Nurse Licia L. Nongrum shared heartfelt stories about how Mr. Marak’s presence had become synonymous with the school’s spirit.

The event also included an emotional speech from Mr. Marak’s daughter, Ms. Amchina D. Shira, who serves as the Matron of the school. She spoke with great emotion about her father’s journey, highlighting his dedication and hard work. Her words added a personal touch to the farewell, leaving everyone in attendance moved by the warmth and love shared in the celebration. Mr. Marak, with a full heart, addressed the gathering in the end, expressing his gratitude for the support he had received from all the teachers, staff, and students.

The event culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Shivam Gupta, PGT History, who expressed the collective gratitude of the entire JNV Williamnagar staff for Mr. Marak’s unwavering commitment and service to the school.

Mr. Nildoz Marak’s retirement marks the end of an era at JNV Williamnagar, but his legacy of dedication and service will continue to inspire both staff and students for years to come. As he embarks on a new chapter of his life, the school community expressed their deepest gratitude for his years of service and wished him all the best in his future endeavors.
