The verdant morning of 21st June 2025 witnessed the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrated with unwavering enthusiasm and collective spirit at PMSHRI JNV East Garo Hills. The celebration echoed the global theme of wellness, mindfulness, and harmony as envisioned by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
From the break of dawn, the school campus vibrated with the rhythm of disciplined energy as all students,  teaching staff, and  non-teaching staff assembled on the school academic block for the session, which commenced promptly at 6:30 a.m. and continued till 8:15 a.m.
The event began with the live telecast of the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) session under the Ayushman Bharat initiative, which was viewed and enthusiastically followed by the entire Navodaya fraternity. Students, under the guidance of their teachers, performed every yogic posture with poise and grace, manifesting the holistic spirit of yoga.
This was followed by two invigorating yoga sessions, including two sets of synchronized Surya Namaskar, meticulously supervised by TGT (P.E. Male) Mr. Sirajuddin. Following the session, Mr. Sirajuddin delivered a powerful address, eloquently elaborating on the physical, mental, and spiritual significance of Yoga in today’s fast-paced world. He emphasized yoga not merely as an exercise but as a way of life rooted in Indian heritage.
The stage was then graced by Mr. Ravi Kant, Principal Sir who in his inspiring speech, emphasized the global relevance of yoga, its scientifically proven health benefits, and the vision behind the international observance. He particularly highlighted this year’s theme — 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' — signifying yoga as a unifying force for the wellness of all living beings and our shared planet. In his Vote of Thanks, Mr. Shivam Gupta (PGT History) lauded the efforts of the Physical Education Department and congratulated all participants for making the event a resounding success.
The programme was meticulously organised by TGT (P.E. Male) Mr. Sirajuddin and TGT (P.E. Female) Ms. Disha Yadav, whose coordination and dedication ensured a seamless execution of every segment of the celebration.
A complete attendance report reflected active participation from all the teachers and  non-teaching staff present. Their commitment underscored the collective spirit of Navodaya Parivar in nurturing holistic development and lifelong wellness in students.
This year's celebration reaffirmed the vision of Yoga as a bridge between the body and soul, tradition and modernity, and individual and universal well-being. Indeed, it was not just a session of postures—it was a celebration of India's ancient wisdom woven into the present-day consciousness.
